Friday Thoughts

Autumn Outside In!

How do you feel about autumn?

How do you feel about autumn?

Personally, I love it.

After a busy summer, there’s just something so soothing about hunkering down at home and embracing the autumn vibes. The excuse to make everything warm and cosy. To turn on the lamps, light the candles and set a fire as the evenings draw in.

I always feel there’s a natural change of pace that happens around this time of year, a chance to breathe and take stock. Perhaps that’s why one of my favourite October pastimes is to create a cosy reading spot where I can curl up with a hot cup of tea, a soft blanket, a good book and a look out to the autumn changing colours.

Heaven!

Fancy making your home a haven for autumn?

Imagine creating a cosy nest in which you could hibernate until spring. Some days I feel like that’s all I want to do.

But joking aside, if you are thinking you’d like to invite some autumn vibes into the home, I’ve written a blog chatting about exactly how to do it with a little style! So why not put the kettle on, pull up a chair and have a read of my autumn interiors inspiration blog Embrace the season with autumn interiors?

3 things I spotted this week

(& couldn’t wait to share with you!)

1. House of Hackney - Awe of Autumn collection

House of Hackney – a firm favourite with some of my autumn-inclined clients – has put out the first instalment of their yearlong collection Anima Mundi. Promising to add a touch of enchantment to your everyday, this collection of floral wallpapers and linens celebrates Mother Nature herself. And I can’t wait for the samples to arrive!

2. Amy Kent - New 'Albaicin Border' rugs

I can’t help feeling this new border collection by Any Kent , in collaboration with Rapture & Wright, will be flying out the door. Perfect if you’re a little nervous about introducing a wholly patterned rug, these border rugs introduce interest, without overwhelming other patterns in the room. And they can be made bespoke in any size and colour.

We’re in raptures over these rugs

3. Casamance – New fabrics collection

French brand Casamance launched their new fabric and wall covering range for A/W24 last week, and it’s a ‘Wow’ from me. Taking inspiration from ‘the flower-filled valleys of the high Himalayan plateaus’, Casamance have given us the kinds of deep autumn hues and sumptuous textured fabrics that we’re craving. And they’ve introduced bold, modern geometrics into their new designs too. What’s not to love?

Interior design lovers, look out next week as I’ll be hopping on the train to London to visit not one, but two amazing exhibitions.

The ‘UK’s celebration of interior design’ - Decorex and the new extended Focus 24 – ‘the ultimate design and decoration show’ at Chelsea Harbour. Don’t worry if you miss anything, I’ll bring you a full roundup in the next newsletter.

In the meantime…

I’ve just added a new interiors project to the website - a gorgeous transformation of an old school to a luxury architect-designed home. Take a look if you’d like to see more of what I can help you achieve.

And don’t forget to channel those autumn vibes, tone the pace down a little and take the rest you need. And if you’ve been wondering about a seasonal makeover for your home, why not book a no obligation complimentary Discovery Call, so we can have a chat about your ideas?
